DR SUSAN MISTLER
Managing Partner Americas, Executive Coach & Consultant, Psychologist
AMERICAS – BOSTON
Susan is an Executive Coach and Licensed Clinical Psychologist. She has coached senior leaders in large multinational companies and top financial organisations in Asia Pacific for the last 20 years, and now serves as the Managing Partner for Aesara in the Americas. She works with top talent, C-suite leaders of businesses and functions, across the US and globally. Her coaching work aims to help leaders to reach their best potential in ways that can also benefit their teams and business.
As an Executive Coach, Susan has worked with leaders on a broad range of issues over the years – those keen to transition to new roles successfully, leaders interested in developing their leadership skills, impact, presence, people management, personal effectiveness, and interpersonal savvy. In recent years leaders have needed more help in effectively navigating their organisations by being strategic in their relationship management.
Susan appreciates working with issues that are ideally met with both executive coaching savvy and psychological expertise, in particular with leaders who have heard consistent themes for development over the years but haven’t yet managed to transform these patterns.
In the early years in Hong Kong, Susan served as the APAC Regional Director of Coaching Services for a global leadership consulting firm, PDI (now Korn Ferry). Since then she has worked independently as an Executive Coach and has delivered many talks over the years on coaching, resilience and clinical topics. Susan enjoyed a longstanding relationship with Goldman Sachs in Asia Pacific as an external coach, and then served as the in-house lead for the firm’s Resilience efforts in APAC, working closely with leadership to provide sustainable Resilience support for the region.
Susan earned her post-doctoral fellowship at McLean Hospital/Harvard Medical School, and her post-doctoral fellowship at the Trauma Center in Boston. In tandem with her coaching work in Hong Kong, Susan served as a Clinical Partner for Central Health Medical clinic in charge of Adult Psychological Services.
Susan’s academic qualifications include a Doctorate in Clinical Psychology (Psy.D.) from the University of Denver (Colorado) and her MA in Clinical Psychology from Pepperdine University (California), a BS in Psychology from Vanderbilt University (Tennessee), and is a Licensed Psychologist in Massachusetts, USA and registered in Hong Kong. She is a Fellow at the Institute of Coaching.
