Summary

Gösta works with senior executives and teams to strengthen their effectiveness, confidence and impact as leaders. Drawing on his experience as an Equity Partner and business leader, he is particularly well placed to support clients navigating career progression, leadership transitions, complex decision-making and organisational change. Common coaching themes in his work include conflict, team effectiveness, generational challenges and diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI).

Coaching Style

Gösta draws from a variety of psychology-based methodologies and adapts his approach depending on the client’s needs and the task at hand. He sees coaching as an active thinking partnership and will not shy away from sharing observations and giving clear, constructive feedback to help clients challenge their self-perception and better understand how they are perceived by clients, colleagues, teams and the wider organisation. At the same time, Gösta creates a supportive and trusting environment in which clients can explore difficult issues, broaden their perspective and develop practical strategies for lasting change.

Professional Experience

Gösta began his career as an IP attorney before becoming an Equity Partner at Buse Heberer Fromm (a mid-sized German law firm), where he led its largest cross-office team of over 30 partners, associates and staff, as well as its highest-performing team in terms of revenue and profitability. As his leadership responsibilities grew, he became increasingly involved in leadership development and team effectiveness, leading him to train as a Systemic and Business Coach and transition into full-time executive coaching.

Qualifications

Gösta is a fully qualified German lawyer and holds a doctorate (J.S.D.) from the University of Münster and a Master of Laws (LL.M.) from the University of Chicago. He is also a certified Systemic and Business Coach, accredited to DBVC/IOBC standards, and a certified facilitator of the LINC Personality Profiler, a leading personality assessment and leadership development tool in Germany.

Personal Interests

Away from coaching, Gösta is an avid sailor, enjoying long journeys on the Baltic Sea whenever his beehives do not require his attention.
